What is the Damon Smile system?
When you get traditional braces, a metal bracket is attached to the front of each tooth and a wire slides through to connect them all together. Then, elastic bands are placed over the wire and brackets to keep them in place. As you go through treatment, the wire is tightened at each office visit to encourage your teeth to move.
Damon Smile uses a different approach, known as self-ligation. With this technique, each bracket has a built-in clip that keeps the wire in place and eliminates the need for elastic bands. In addition, the mechanism in each bracket allows for free movement of the wire. This means as your teeth move, the wire matches the movements and makes treatment much faster and more effective.
